Who is Jaysquared?
Hi I'm Jonathan,
I began developing iPhone apps shortly after Apple launched the App Store, dedicating most of my weekends and evenings to experimenting with new app ideas. The first version of Where is that? was released in early 2012 and quickly topped the German App Store charts. Six months later, I left my full-time job in investment banking to pursue my passion as an indie app developer.
The app evolved into a comprehensive learning platform and multiplayer geography game. I developed a custom mapping engine optimized for gaming, which now powers all of my geography games. Where is that? has achieved numerous top chart positions worldwide, been prominently featured by Apple, and is a certified learning platform in multiple countries.
My software development journey began in 1998 when I created and operated a homepage builder with 25,000 users and worked part-time at SAP during high school. While studying business administration at university, I gained valuable experience in investment banking with Dresdner Kleinwort, Goldman Sachs, and Commerzbank.
